Facebook posts

If you have publicly posted a hunt in a Facebook group, we may write to you personally and offer to list it on the site. We then store the link to the post, your name, a link to your profile and the text of the post, so we can prepare a draft listing. The data is deleted after 90 days if you do not create a listing. If you click the link in the message, a cookie is stored for 30 days so we can see whether the message led to a listing. The draft is made from your public post and contains text, images and details about the hunt. You can delete the draft yourself via the link, and we will not contact you again. You can also request deletion via the contact page.

Account

Your email and, if you provide them, name and phone. We use this for login and to manage your listings.

Basis: our agreement with you. Kept until you delete your account.

Listings

Contact name, phone, text, photos, region and postcode. The listing is public while it is active and for 30 days after it is leased or expires.

Publicly we show only your first name and the first letter of your surname. The phone number is shown only if you chose to, and only when a visitor asks for it. Your email is never shown.

By default we show only an approximate location based on the postcode. If you draw the hunting area on the map yourself, the drawn area is shown publicly on the listing.

Basis: our agreement with you. Contact details are removed from expired listings after 12 months. Photos are deleted when the listing or the account is deleted. The listing's factual details are kept in anonymised form for statistics.

Enquiries to advertisers

Name, email, optionally phone and your message. We pass the message on to the advertiser, who is responsible for their own copy.

We keep the message for 90 days so we can handle misuse. Basis: our legitimate interest in brokering the contact and preventing misuse.

Search agent

Your email and your search criteria. Basis: our agreement with you. Kept until you unsubscribe or delete it.

Search agent emails can always be stopped with the link in the email or under Account.

Reports and moderation

Who reported a listing, the reason and the decisions the system has made.

Basis: our legitimate interest in a safe site and our duties as a hosting service. Kept for 12 months.

Protection against misuse

When someone reveals a phone number or sends a message, we store a shortened fingerprint (hash) of the IP address for 30 and 90 days respectively, so we can limit automated lookups. The fingerprint is made with a secret key.

Automated checks with AI

The listing's type, title, text, price and area are sent to a language model that checks whether the listing follows the rules. If you use "Fill in the fields", the text you paste is also sent to the model, including any contact details in the text.

Decisions to reject or hide are made automatically; you can always ask for a human to review the case.

Statistics and storage in your browser

We count individual events such as "listing published" and "message sent" without linking them to a person. No cookies for statistics.

Your login and your draft are stored locally in your browser so you do not lose them. This is necessary for the site to work and therefore needs no consent.

Maps and emails to us

Maps on listings and in the create flow are provided by Mapbox (USA). When a map is shown in your browser, Mapbox sees your IP address.

If you write to us we keep the correspondence for as long as the matter requires, and at most 12 months after it is closed.

Who receives the data

Other users and the public see what is in your listing. The advertiser receives your enquiry.

If we share your listing on our Facebook page or in the group, the listing content becomes public on Facebook. Your contact details are not shared.

Our processors: Lovable (hosting, database and AI gateway, including Supabase, Cloudflare and Google as sub-processors), Resend (sending emails), Mapbox (maps), Make (posts on the Facebook page, listing content only) and Microsoft (our mailbox).

Some providers are located in the USA. Transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The database is located in the EU.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and to object. Most of it you can handle yourself under Account: "Download my data" gives you a copy and "Delete my account and all listings" removes everything.

Children and changes

The site is intended for people over 18.

If we change this policy materially we will say so on the site and in an email to users with active listings.
